Each picture is hand worked from flat sheets of copper using the ancient metalworking techniques of repoussé and chasing.
The detailing is superb and the finish quite stunning.

As these fantastic pictures are individually crafted
repeat pictures will be similar but
no two pictures will be quite the same

Each picture is created using small hand-held chisels (liners) to create an outline of the design in the metal so it can be seen on the back.

Once the line design is completed the metal is raised from the back (repoussé) hammered out by hand and worked with a variety of tools to sculpt the 3-dimensional design.

The front must also be worked (chasing) to refine and enhance the details by sinking the metal.

The picture is completely darkened and then hand buffed to bring out different highlights and create the shadows that play across the picture. A torch is used to add the colours.

The metal is unforgiving, every mark made on it will be seen, therefore each step is meticulous and time consuming.
